Consulting

Statistical, demographic, and spatial data science

How I can help

I work with organizations, agencies, and research teams that need rigorous, defensible analysis of population and health data. My consulting draws on more than two decades of applied experience in demography, biostatistics, and spatial data science, and on a track record of peer-reviewed research and applied analytics.

Typical engagements include:

  • Statistical analysis and modeling. Regression, hierarchical and multilevel models, Bayesian estimation, survival and event-history analysis, and survey-weighted estimation, with clear interpretation for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demographic and health data analysis. Mortality, fertility, migration, small-area estimation, population projections, and analysis of large administrative and public health datasets.
  • Spatial analysis and mapping. Exploratory spatial data analysis, spatial regression, segregation and clustering measures, and publication-quality maps and geographic data products.
  • Forecasting and prediction. Hierarchical forecasting and machine learning models built for transparency, validation, and real decision support.
  • Reproducible workflows and training. Analytic pipelines in R, reproducible reporting with Quarto, and hands-on training for analytic teams.

Selected past engagements

I have served as a statistical consultant for Every Texan and the National Women’s Law Center, providing analysis of demographic and policy-relevant data. I have also worked as an educational consultant for Caring Across Generations and the Coleridge Initiative, developing and delivering training in applied data analysis and reproducible research methods.
